Finstock Local History Society presents...
A FREE day of folk music, history, dance and crafts/rural skills focussing on an aspect of Finstock's local history and based around the village hall and bower. This year's theme is: WOOL!
12 noon: Event Opening on Well Hill with Arrival of the Sheep! & opening talk by Pete Welply
Until 3.45pm: Family Picnic on Well Hill with posh BBQ 1-2pm & AWESOME CAKES from Finstock Toddler Group. Refreshments & real ale bar at the Village Hall. Stalls, workshops & craft demos. Buskers in the Bower to include: Henderson/Hooper; some of Oxford Fiddle Group; John Garrick & more. DIY maypole dancing. Junk modelling musical instrument workshop with Theresa from Salt Box Music: make your shaker to shake in the afternoon procession!
3.45pm: Procession around Well Hill and the village bower to the Plough
4.00-5.30pm: morris dancing at the Plough; learn to dance the Shepherd's Hey!
5.30pm: music in the Plough
7.00pm: "Diary of a Blanket" community music theatre piece at the Village Hall - FREE
8.00pm: CLOSING CEILIDH with Finstock Festival Band & caller Kath Lucas (£5)
